CURRICULUM:
¥ CURRICULUM GUIDE GRADES K-6: This guide was developed to provide AAD facilitators with a comprehensive curriculum for facilitating educational support groups on the elementary level. The curriculum was organized with activities by topic areas. Group length could be anywhere from six to nine weeks with eight to ten participants meeting 20 to 25 minutes each week, but the time factor and numbers would be determined by such things as AAD Core Team size and the needs and logistical situations of your school. While topics covered are of the utmost importance, elementary students should be well versed in the educational support group process prior to the middle school level. Topics addressed include: Self-esteem, Defenses, Feelings, Friendship, Helping Others, Anger, Listening, Problem Solving, and Chemical Dependency. Also included are parent notification and student evaluation forms.
This curriculum is available on disk for $19.95.
¥ CURRICULUM GUIDE GRADES 7-12: This guide was developed to provide AAD facilitators with a comprehensive curriculum for grades 7-12 in facilitating educational support groups. The curriculum is organized in a nine week unit with two activities provided for each session. Since one activity is usually sufficient for a week's work, the other activity may be used in corresponding weeks for an eighteen week or semester group. This would be determined by AAD Core Team size and the needs and logistical situations of your school. A week by week outline is provided along with a lesson plan form for facilitators.
This curriculum is available on disk for $14.95.
