ASSISTING ADOLESCENT DEVELOPMENT (AAD) TRAINING:
The 2000 spring semester of AAD Training is rapidly approaching. Begin planning NOW for team expansion, or if a new school to us, adding an AAD program. Information will be in the mail shortly. If you do not receive information, please contact our office. Classes will meet Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 9:30 beginning January 12, 2000 at College Park.
REMEMBER, AAD PHASE I AND PHASE II TRAINING IS AVAILABLE FOR THREE HOURS OF GRADUATE CREDIT THROUGH THE UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA AT KEARNEY.
NEW FOR THE SPRING SEMESTER 2000:
This is a three credit graduate level course taught by Bev Hays, Program Specialist with Community Plus.
Building Resiliency: A framework for success. Develop an understanding of the asset framework based on research by Search Institute. Identify the 40 developmental assets and learn how to build assets in youth.
Social Skills: Respect and responsibility; Teaching kids what they need to succeed. Learn strategies for providing a framework to teaching social competencies that will empower kids for life.
Service Learning: Connecting kids to real-life. Experience the benefits of services learning and make an action plan for implementing its use in the classroom.
Classes will meet Mondays from 6:30 - 9:30 P.M. beginning January 10 at College Park in Grand Island.
